One of the oldest painters of the Baroque era in Silesia – Michael Leopold Willmann – after 1653, created two pieces for the main altar of the Church of Saint Elizabeth, which was fitted in the place of replaced Hans Pleydenwurff’s work. The first of them depicted The Last Supper and the second The Name of Yahweh. The altar was funded by a Wrocław merchant, Goerg Freyer, and Willmann’s works were added later. They were admired by both Protestants and Catholics, which shows the artistic skills of the artist, who was still young at that time.
